The unit offers smooth response and excellent off-axis dispersion, which limits the need for equalization and processing equipment. It also features a long-throw polycone and inverted rubber surround which can eliminate the need for sub-woofers in applications where low bass is required. A 1/2" dome tweeter mounted on a post provides very uniform coverage.

The LA-250 Series is available in three versions:

The LA-250 contains a 4x8" loudspeaker system.
The LA-250C (Corner array) features a 2x8" system with transducers mounted adjacent to each other.
The LA-250H (Hallway array) contains a 2x8" loudspeaker system with transducers mounted parallel to each other.

Architectural Specifications

The LA-250 loudspeaker system shall be a self-contained, full range device, consisting of four 8" (20.3cm) coaxial transducers, a 1/2" dome tweeter mounted on a post, with a wide coverage pattern.
The system sensitivity shall be 90 dB below 1.5 kHz, 94 dB 1.5 kHz to 8 kHz, 92 dB 8 kHz to 22 kHz spl at 1 meter with 1w input.
The frequency response shall be 45 Hz - 22 kHz. The crossover frequency shall be 5000 Hz.
The continuous power handling capacity shall be 160 Watts.
Each 8" driver will be mounted in a pyramidal enclosure made of high grade polystyrene in either a flat white or black finish.
The unit is designed to fit into a standard 15/16" t-bar suspended ceiling. Its dimensions shall be 5 ¾" (14.6cm) in depth, 23 ¾" (60.3cm) in width and 23 ¾" (60.3cm) in length.
The unit will extend 4.13" (10.5cm) below the ceiling grid.
Each speaker will be mounted to the enclosure with 4 flush mounted screws.
Metal grille painted white or black will be mounted between each driver and the enclosure.
Net weight shall not exceed 20.7 lbs. (9.4 kg).
The loudspeaker system shall be a LA250-MG, manufactured by Lansdale Amusement Company.
